Winter Blessings

Hello Lovelies, I'm sorry I have  been absent from this space for so long.  Life is quite busy in the evening these days, that's when I would normally read blogs and write a post of my own.
You see my lovely Mum in Law has been in hospital since October and I visit every evening unless I'm at work (Hubby goes every day). Thankfully things are finally looking up for her (phew) but I know there will be tricky times ahead and lots more support will be needed.
At times like these I find it pretty essential to focus on the small things that make me smile. Winter here has been pretty kind really. I've had  what I need most....the chance to get outside, or stay quietly at home. Here are some of the things that have brightened my days......

Sunshine on cheery flowers. This years Amaryllis was the best ever.

A few hours to wander as far as my legs will allow, noticing the birds and the misty views

Then sunshine and paddling in the shallow stream.

Signs of spring outside the florists shop.

Feeding feathered friends.

Admiring frosty views.

A square a day added to my Temperature blanket.

Sunshine on a freezing group walk day.

Always birds.

 Chaffinch singing sweetly

Female Blackbird eating crab apples

And bird homes.

First flowers.

And new visitors to Jacquie's bird cafe :0)

Dawn walks with a willing Teen, because dawn is at a reasonable hour :0)

And finally, cute baby Deer.

Today it's been so mild it really has felt like spring but I'm not wishing winter away just yet. I love all our seasons and feel blessed to have the time to really appreciate them.

Pictures of the Hidden Garden

Hello Lovelies,
if you have been reading my blog for a while I'm sure this garden will be familiar, but I hope you enjoy seeing how it's doing in May.
It's a quiet space behind a local church, tended by volunteers. I wandered around drinking in the scents and sights and sounds on Saturday evening.
Click on the first image and the scroll through to enjoy the pictures full size.

We have been so lucky with the weather over the long Bank holiday weekend and I was very happy to get outside and make the most of this warm sunny interlude.

Another simple post, I hope you don't mind me posting like this sometimes.

The May Landscape

Hello Again lovelies,
as always I have to say thank you for your lovely comments. I really do love to hear from you. Today I was at work and missed all the hot sunshine, but there were kind comments waiting for me when I got home, and I'm off tomorrow. Yay.

Here are a few pictures from my walk on Saturday morning. When the sky was cloudless and the paths were dry.

Eldest was walking with me. He's great company and a fast walking partner. We like to stride it out.

The willows by the stream are a gorgeous fresh green.

and the undergrowth is suddenly quiet tall.

Cow parsley and Hawthorn blossom,  May favourites.

I love all the different colours in the trees.

and I like to climb a stile.

Morning sheep.

The jumble of red roofs is so pretty here.

and the echoy dark of the tunnel frames the view perfectly.

Here it's the Wheat which is getting taller.

And here it was easy to spot the bird's nest.

At the top of the hill we stop to look back at the patchwork of yellow and green.

and back down on the village too.

It was nice to walk the shade sometimes, with just a little sunlight to illuminate the "pinkbells".

The final image from this walk were some Tulips we passed as we neared home. How lovely are these pastel pretties.
