July Scavenger Hunt Photos

Hello Lovelies,
Thank you all so much for your extra kind comments on my Giant Granny. You really do make my day :0)

The list for July's scavenger hunt ( see the other entries to this monthly challenge  here ) had a holiday vibe so I intentionally left taking any pictures till we were away last week.

It's nice that these pictures for the scavenger hunt also allow me to share a glimpse of our first trip to the seaside this year with you lovelies. The images are not in the order of the list...but in the order they were taken.
The first three were taken in the resort of Wells -next-the-sea. It was our first visit here and we would love to return one day. So much to see and do.

1. Celebration.......
well sort of .....lots of bunting and flags in this street made me think of celebrations

2.Ice Cream

Fish and Chips and Ice cream...2 must have food items at the sea side.

3.Red , white and blue

I was particularly taken with this fishing boat in wells harbour. We were having a go at crabbing when I took this picture...along with many others. I think the crabs have got wise to this sport and learnt how to tease us by taking the bait then letting go as soon a you try to lift them more that a foot out of the water...what clever creatures :0)

The next couple of pictures were taken back at our Caravan. It really was a souper dooper one and it must have belonged to a family who sub let it as there were so many sweet personal touches like colourful crockery and great resources like puzzels and games.

4.Stars

well OK one star (fish) on this gorgeous tea pot .Isn't it great !

5. Stripes

Had to be my latest blanket. I'm loving picture for both it's colourful crochet and the glimpse of my cheeky son who sneaked under the chair when I went to fetch my camera and then gave himself away by giggling. You can just see his trainers and the top of his head if you look closely :0)

The next four images are from Thursday ...our only sunny day this holiday

6.A Kite
A Dad and a very sweet little boy enjoying the day.

7.Sea Shells

the incoming tide making this shell look so colourful. I love wandering along with my feet in the waves looking for shells and unusual pebbles.

8.A Flag

Hunstanton proudly displaying it's blue flag ...I'm loving the blue sky!

9.Flip Flops

For sale on the prom

10.Something that makes you happy (not a person or animal)

Crochet on the beach :0)

11.Fields

Norfolk Lavender fields taken on the journey home. The grey skies had returned but this weekend has turned out sunny ...great for getting the mountain of washing dry !!

Hope you enjoyed these . Now I just need to squeeze in my "Nature Notes" post....pressure !!
Have a great Sunday .

Photo Scavenger Hunt, June

Hello Lovelies , here I am a day late with my scavenger hunt photos for June. To be honest I nearly gave up this month...some of the items were tricky ...I'm still not happy with my wheel trim (!!!???)
I like by blog to be a place of prettiness and don't want to post what I would consider boring pictures but some possibly boring pictures turn out to be the best and I love to see what others have come up with.
Enough waffle . Here are my pictures for June........

1. Something with your towns name on it ......

Not my current town but the village where I grew up and revisited this year in this post. I've had this T.shirt at the bottom of my Drawer for years ( sorry about the creases) and I couldn't throw it away :0)
Behind it is my square throw...to add the aforementioned prettiness. I still think this is my favourite make of all time .

2. An Elephant......

An Elephant ornament of mine smelling the first posy of sweet peas from my garden this year. I wish you could smell them too.

3.A wheel trim......

On one of the boys playmobil lorries. Not very happy with this but I didn't seen anything more inspiring this month.

4. Architectural Detail........

coincidentally the date on this Carnegie Library is the same year as the book I shared in my previous post. The detail is astounding don't you think ?

5.Cheese....

Anther category where my heart sank initially ...but in the end I was pretty pleased with this Greek salad of Feta and tomato drizzled with olive oil.So many lovely holiday memories :0) and very yummy.

6.Night.....

I took this snap on Tuesday. I went into the garden at 11pm to check the rabbits and was amazed to see some light still remaining on the western horizon.I dashed back in to get my camera and took this at 11.02pm exactly. I know there is a street light but the sky was defiinately lit by the disappearing  sun, you can see the orange glow in the middle horizon. The following day,Wednesday I was awoken by the dawn chorus at 3.50 am . That's less than 5 hours of complete Darkness. Wonderful .Shame we have to endure the other extreme in the winter

7.Tree Branches...

In the grounds of a  Stately home we visited this month.

8.Cutlery.......

Another toughie.Went for colour as usual :0) My latest crochet project is peeping out from beneath the plate.

9.A Childhood Memory

Patchwork Hexagons I made as a child , still waiting for completion. The stitching is so neat...not sure I could do as well today.

10. A farm Animal......

Some pretty cows and some calves hiding under the tree.

11.Something Beginning with Z.....

Another cheat...gaZania....well it's stunning don't you think?

12. and Finally....The View Right out side your Door...........

Our neighbours stunning acer tree against a blue Sky...lovely.
Right. I'm off to see what the others have come up with :0)

May Photo Scavenger Hunt

Hello Lovelies,
The end of may already ?! I've been late finishing collecting these pictures this month.
The photo scavenger hunt is set by Kathy at Postcards from the P.P.
This is the second month I've joined in and I'm really enjoying it.

So here we go with this months images.....

1. A Butterfly

I had resigned myself to having to improvise with this one ,but this afternoon at the country park one of my boys managed to snap this for me . I used this link to find out it's a female Common Blue ....she's very pretty isn't she.

2.A Bicycle

My own bike packed ready for a trip to the beach. Only kidding ! It IS my beloved Raleigh I've owned for 22 years but as I live in the centre of England I must admit to playing around staging this to make a nice picture :0)

3. A Red Door

Another last minute entry. I've had my eye on this door all month and was waiting for some sun to shine on it ...gave up today. I think it must face north .There's a lovely fern in the front garden .

4. A Cartoon Character

My youngest's collection of Buzz Lightyears. To infinity and Beyond :0)

5. An Emergency Vehicle

Thankfully this was just at a local fun day for children to have a sit in.

6. Think Vintage

A little Observer Pocket book on wild flowers . I found this in a charity bookshop this month. Just the right size to take on my walks . A previous owner has noted dates they have seen certain plants ...the earliest being 1958.

7. Something blue

Had to be the sky for me . This was taken at sunset ...you can just see the moon if you look closely. This picture made me think of a quote I saw in this months Country Living ..." Other worlds cannot be as beautiful as ours. "

8. A lamp post

I have to admit this was actually taken in April . It was when took the family  to Yorkshire for the day to see where I grew up. It's not on a street ,but outside my childhood home and the top part was  made by my Dad. I was so happy to see it still there despite the current owners many changes :0)

9. Texture

a close up of my bedroom chair....the paint is peeling rather and you can see the original dark pink . I wouldn't want to add more paint though as I like to see the basket weave of this Lloyd Loom style chair.

10. A sign of the Zodiac

My very own Twins :0) It was their birthday last week which means they were actually  born under Gemini .Happy Birthday boys...11 wow, can't call you little people any more !

11.An interesting local building

A pretty cottage with roses round the door and a white picket fence. Perfect.

12. A Black and White portrait

O.K. a bit of improvisation here . Not wanting to do a Portrait I hit upon the idea of a black and white silhouette. These are my boys and I used this tutorial to create it.I would have never of done this normally and I'm so pleased with it .Thank you scavenger Hunt :0)

There's a linky tool here so you can see the other entries .

Hope you enjoyed . It's not too late to join in if you fancy it . There will be a new list posted for June any day.
