Friday Happies

Hello Lovlies ,hope you are well.

Today was going so well. As soon as I dropped the boys off at school,I pulled on these and went for a run( steady jog :0) ).....

I've been doing this for three months now, some days it's still a slog to get round my modest two and a half mile circuit , but today was a good and it wasn't too hard.I do feel energised afterwards. And it was great to get out in the fresh air on a lovely crisp, sunny morning.

Then it was off to the supermarket for my weekly shop, which went ok till I accidenallly started to put petrol in our deisel car whilst a little distracted....

BIG OOOPS JACQUIE!!!!

After a couple of panicky phone calls to Mr BM and our Garage I was instructed to fill up with deisel and since not too much petrol had gone in,I should ( hopefully ) get away with it , PHEW!!!!!

Once I got home and put the shopping away, I've cheered myself up by taking photo's of some lovely Asters I bought at the supermarket ..........

Looking at the sweet fawn I picked up in a charity shop this week for 35p....

And taking photos of my circles to share with you lovely lot......

I'm up to 80 now and still loving making them. They are so simple and fun.
Look ,this ones so pretty......

and this one....

Oooh and what about this one.....

or these two ...........?

Yes, they may be a little too colourful for some people , possibly for me too, but I'm hopeing once the white border is added they will look just right:0)

Thanks for being out there ,I love to here your comments.

Sunny Scarecrow Sunday

Hello Lovelies, hope your week is going well. Mine has been rather busy so far. I've taken on a few extra hours at work, which will take a bit of adjusting to. Plus we are back into the homework/packed lunch/school forms season, which dominates my evenings.

I suppose it makes you appreciate the weekends even more.
Sunday was a beautiful day in these parts.Sunny and warm, so it was great to get out and enjoy it ,knowing the days will soon be getting cooler.

Somewhere we try to visit every September is a local scarecrow competition.
If you are not familiar with these, you pay a small fee to walk around a village guessing the characters made of straw ( and other things ) .Individual households make each scarecrow and place them in front of their houses. There were 80 this year.

The money raised goes to charity and this particular village is so pretty I like to go for the atmosphere.

The theme this year was "Heroes and Villains" .There were traditional ones like this....

Inventive ones like this depicting the local air ambulance, if you look closely you can see the patient has a very nasty leg injury! (you might need to click on the image to in large it)...........

Amazing ones like George and the Dragon .....

On such a Sunny day the houses too, were looking stunning.....

Right in the middle of the village there were cows being milked. The boys watched fascinated as, every few minutes a huge cow managed to squeeze it's self out of the doorway of the building on the right...

Running through the village is a disused canal.....

And a canal basin where the narrow boats would have turned around, now it is a popular fishing spot.Love the reflections and wispy clouds in this picture.............

And the jumble of roof tops and church steeple in this picture....

Well ,I hope you enjoyed the pictures .Writing this post, and looking at these images, has helped me unwind after a rather stressful work day.

Congratulations to Heather at - The Patchwork Heart

That's quite a coincidence,Heather winning my cushion in heather tones !

THANK YOU all for your lovely comments, this has been a great way to find some gorgeous new blogs to read, Heathers included, do visit hers and see for yourself.

My comment about being self conscious, crocheting in front of friends and colleagues certainly seems to be a common feeling, and as I said before ,that's why having blog friends who share your passion is so special.

I don't mind crocheting public ,if no one knows me! When I posted this picture, taken on Cromer Beach ...

Paisley Jade asked me to add it to the Craft Nerds Go Public Flickr group, what a great idea!

Another great idea I discovered recently and wanted to share with you lovely lot is i crochet . All the pictures are links to blogs,or flickr . You might spot mine there too. It's easy to add your own link, just follow the simple instructions.

I'm still enjoying my colourful crochet circles, they really are addictive.
I even did a couple in the car, when I arrived a little early for work yesterday...

Congratulations again Heather,I'm off to contact you right now.

Hope you all have a great Sunday, whatever you are up too .I'm hoping to do some baking, flapjacks and biscuits have been requested :0)

New Season,New Project

I know it's not officially Autumn yet, but I always feel like the return to school heralds a new season.

The days are getting shorter and today we woke to a misty ,Autumnal feeling, morning....

The spiders had been busy in the garden ,making LOADS of cobwebs.Loving this one ,with water droplets clinging to its beautiful design........

We have had an excellent, fun ,summer. The six weeks really did seem to fly.I must admit though ,to enjoying a few hours today, with no one to please but myself.

I popped out for a little light shopping .On the way home I made a detour and travelled down the pretty country lanes. It felt really good to catch up with this favourite spot . To see how it looked this September..... Love, love love this traditional farmyard, with its old buildings.....

and this barn............

Berries in the hedgerows........

and happy looking chickens......

Back home ,with no distractions,I got my camera out again.By my computer there is a growing pile of colourful circles........

Would you like a better look,hope so . Let's go outside ....

That's better.... I'm having such fun making these. Combining any three colours I fancy to make a pretty circle. I'm following this tutorial.

When I saw this blanket I wanted one myself. Isn't it stunning!!!!

It's great to be able to use any colours I fancy after Having to use boy colours in my granny stripe.......

Yes I am having a ball with my colourful circles........

I'm also making sure I catch in the ends as I go.....

It's not the neatest way ,I know but such a time saver .I've made 45 so far , that's a quarter of the total I need. I'm no where near fed up with these yet,so hopefully it wont take ages to get there.

There are still a couple of days left to join my cushion cover give away just leave a comment Here.

I'll get the boys to pick a name out of the hat on Friday. Good Luck Everybody.

Seaside Fun

Living in the middle of England, about 2 hours drive from the sea,day trips to the coast are infrequent.

So ,when we decided to go on a camping trip the seaside was a must, despite our recent holiday to the Isle of Wight.

Last year we discovered Cromer, and liked it a lot . So on a sunny day during this trip ,we headed back there.

We parked the car. Then, loaded down with beach type paraphernalia,we headed for the sand.
Through the sweet, sheltered gardens at the top of the cliff.........

Past stunning beach huts, gotta love all these colours.......

And their cute signs....

We managed to glimpse the inside of a couple, there were stripy deckchairs ,buckets and spades, little gas stoves with whistling kettles, bunting and more driftwood.
So lovely!!I would love to own or rent one of these if we lived closer to the sea ,but I know they can be very expensive and hard to come by.

Then onwards to the sand......

Ooooh how my boys (and that includes Mr BM )love the beach.

Sitting in the waves and making sand castles were the order of this day........

We had a picnic and I managed a little crochet,do you like my travel crochet kit?........

Then, leaving the boys playing with their dad, I headed off to explore a little ,promising to return with ice creams.

Cromer has a lovely Pier........

You can walk right to the end, where people fish , without having to go through an amusement arcade..............

It also has a thriving theatre.......

Turning away from the sea now ,I headed for the shops......

admired the pretty streets..........

and remembered fabulous fish and chips from here.......

Ah, this is where I remembered .....in the back of this shop...... wasn't there some yarn?..... Yes!

So I returned to the beach carrying 99's all round and a very restrained yarn purchase.....

A £1.40 ball of Style craft Special , as recommended by the lovely Lucy at Attic 24.

The colour is Shrimp, I thought it was orange in the artificial light of the shop, by it's rather more salmon (or Shrimp!)in natural light. Never mind it will be fine to add to my latest project.

Hope you enjoyed the seaside pictures. More about my latest project next time. Can't wait to show you what I've been up to!

Bunny Mummy,Bunny Mummy, where have you been......?

We've been off to Norfolk to try out our tent!!!

Mr BM and I had booked the week off work, and the weather forecast was good, so we decided to take the plunge and head off on our first family camping trip.Just a short break, after the madness of the bank holiday weekend had died down.

Being new to this ,the packing took me ages.Trying to remember everything we would need. Finally ,we squeezed it all into the car and set off, heading East.
North Norfolk is getting quite familiar to us now as we have visited it both last year, and the year before.Usually in our regular holiday accommodation,a static caravan.

This was an adventure ,trying out camping,so heading somewhere we knew made it a little less daunting.

We chose a site which was recommended by friends, and very nice it was too.Lovely clean loos and showers, which was a priority for me!
Loads for the boys to do too.I'm sure we will return for a longer stay one day.
The camping areas are dotted amongst heath land.....

The heather was looking gorgeous......

And there was a great view across fields towards the sea.........

Here is our tent in the early morning sun .....

We had the luxury of electric hook up ,so I took along some home comforts to make life easier....

This table is actually our camp table from my childhood,it's a little shabby nowadays, but I still love the bright red colour.

Here's a cosy bedroom........

Warm sunny days were followed by very chilly nights. Our little fan heater kept us warm whilst we played cards. Thick P.J.s and socks were in order for bed.

I know the lovely weather made a huge difference, but I was surprised how much I liked the whole experience.

The boys had a great time too, popping to the site shop for supplies, fetching drinking water ,and even washing up at the outdoor sinks.

I've got some pretty sea side pictures to share with you ,if you can indulge me ,it will be the last time this year.

They will have to wait till tomorrow though as I'm pooped now!

Thank you all for the amazing comments on my last post. Glad to see I'm not alone in being a little self conscious about my hobby.

Remember there's still time to join my giveaway , just leave me a comment on my previous post.

Pop back tomorrow for a sea and sunshine fix.
