My Favourite Tree

Hello Lovelies, thank you for your comments on my latest tutorial.
Today I just thought I would share a few pictures of my favourite tree in it's spring colours.
It's a lovely old oak tree , growing up through the hedgerow.
I love it's shape ......

Here is the same tree from the other direction....

I think it's the way the branches twist and turn that particularly appeals to me , though it's not that clear in the photos.....

I tried to take a close up of the newly emerging leaves but this is as close as I could get, it's a wonderful, impressive, solid tree .I hope to enjoy it , changing with the seasons ,for many years to come

Hope you are having an enjoyable Sunday
Jacquie x

  2. Hello Jacquie,
If only they could talk ...that's what I often say. They would tell us so much.
Its a quiet moment to be able to admire nature -something we we need, don't you think?

  6. I love trees, too. They are so tall and a home for many birds and other animals. And in autumn when it's windy they stand and don't break down. I hope you know what I mean.

  10. What a treat it's been to have a catch up on your recent posts. The crocheting lesson was so well done, I imagine that you've inspired quite a few projects. The tree in this post is magnificent! It would be a joy to draw or paint it. And that leads to to compliment your mom's painting that captures a very particular place.

Thank you for the Yorkshire views. I must get back there some day. xo

  16. This tree is beautiful. It reminds me of a huge oak that stood yards from our house as I grew up. About 17 years ago it was condemed and pulled down in order to build houses. Very convenient for the builders - I'm convinced it would have out-lasted all of us if left alone :-( My great-auntie passed away under that tree on her way home from a chapel meeting in 1978 and it held many memories for me, mostly good.

  22. Hi Jacquie!

That is one of the most beautiful trees that I have seen! I also have a favourite tree - a gum tree (I'm in Australia) that's on the side of one of the country roads on my way home from work. It always looks beautiful, regardless of the time of year. I think it's the strong trunk and beautifully shapes branches. Getting to the tree is a signal to me to "switch off" from work and try not to think about it until the next day. It usually works!

I love your blog - thank you for posting!

  24. Jacquie- how wonderfully, incredibly beautiful your tree is. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. It is all the prettier because you stopped to really look at it, and we are all the more blessed because we came along on this little walk with you! Your blog inspires me with every post, so much in fact, that I have begun my own feeble attempt at a blog...picking blogspot.com because I wanted to be in such good company as yourself! And one of my first posts was to name my favorite five blogs which I always make a priority to read...and you dear of course are right there. love and prayers ~ Cara Louise (http://carashandcraftedcrochet.blogspot.com/)
