I hope you have had a good week. Thank you so much for all the kind comments on my previous post.
Here are my happy things from the last week in November, and the last week of Autumn.
If you go by the Met Office's definition of the seasons Winter starts today.
1. Short days.
O.K. I'm not always happy about these, but there are plus points. Sunrise at the end of our street, at a time I can easily be awake to see it has to be a big happy..........
Tuesday 7.30 am
Wednesday 7.30 am
The day after I had hung up this coconut shell full of bird food it was showing evidence that they had been enjoying a little peck..........
I love to see birds in our garden and like to think I can give them a helping hand to survive the winter.
3. New Slippers
now it's getting chilly, and my old slippers have holes in the sole, I've bought some new ones, with knitting and pom-poms....they make me smile :0)..........
4. This weeks Drawing.
A heart shaped November wreath............
I couldn't even attempt to produce anything so accurate and accomplished , but this year I've discovered the enjoyment in creating simple, colourful, fun drawings. Like Edith, I'm hugely inspired by the changing seasons.
So this my celebration of November..........
After appearing in the background of many of my drawings this year, Tom Tit has finally got the lead role :0)
This drawing is full of inspiration from many other sources too.......beautiful photo's in blog posts like THIS and THIS and THIS. And of course Autumn inspired crochet like THIS
I'm so happy with how it turned out, I'm already working on a December version:0)
I'm kind of sad to say goodbye to November, it's been a good one , but there's lots to look forward to in December.....It'll be busy, and the boys love it.

Such beautiful photos as usual. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteYour sunrise and sunset pics are beautiful Jacquie, and I do like your fun slippers and sweet drawing. Edith Holden's book containing her beautiful paintings and words is very special, thank you for sharing it with us! Hugs, Joy x
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your drawings. It is a source of continuing sadness that I have the art talent of a four year old. I can engage with lots of crafts but when it comes to translating what is in my head to the paper it all becomes very lost. Been loving following your virtual walks too which make up a little for not being able to get out much right now.
ReplyDeleteYour wreath is a joy to behold Jacquie, I love it especially with Tom Tit he is so sweet. Loving the colours of your morning sky and candles of course. Happy December, I am sure it's going to be a good one xox Penny
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new slippers! The wreath is beautiful and Tom Tit is perfect on the wreath. Happy December!

ReplyDeletethanks for reminding me about the birds. Your slippers are very funny and I had good chuckle :-) a very light hearted thing to wear. I would be looking at the pompoms all the time! and a wonderful drawing. The colours are lovely. Heather x

ReplyDeleteYour sunsets and slippers and bird feeder and your drawing all make me happy!!! You should certainly frame and display this picture Jacquie, it is so beautiful, and I loved seeing all of your inspirations too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us. I hope that you have a wonderful December xx
ReplyDeleteYour drawing is so beautiful! I love how Tom Tit shines out against the lovely autumn hues...and the first photo would be a very striking palette for a crochet blanket...! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteLove your drawings, I have those books as well. I like bird watching and feed the birds all year round, just this last month two Carrion Crows have been comming in to feed, very cleaver birds. I can now be in the garden at the same time without them flying of...
ReplyDeleteWow, the autumn heart wreath drawing is stunning. I love the shading of the leaves, Tom Tit (finally in all his splendor) and the acorns. Really very good. Thanks for sharing.

love your drawing, have really enjoyed seeing your designs developing over the year, they have always been lovely x
ReplyDeleteI have been hinting to my husband for a month now that I would very much like the Edwardian Lady 2014 calendar as a Christmas gift ... I love that book too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing and sunrises! They are so glorious this time of year - and the sunsets too. :)
I think a Bunny Mummy calender would be gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath, it is just perfect in its simplicity! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love your drawing its gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have that book too, it's one of my favourite's. Love your drawing.x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and I love your drawing, so so pretty of the gorgeous Tom Tit!! Our birds love these coconut shells too, they are usually gone within a couple of days. Enjoy your week xoxo
ReplyDeleteLoved your sunrise photos. But the thought of it being that dark at 4 in the afternoon would take some getting used to! Here in my part of Australia, mid winter would be driving lights on at about 5 and the sun pretty much disappeared by about 5.35, to be seen again around 7ish in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath and it is lovely that Tom has made centre stage.
Enjoy December, time starts to speed up a bit at this time of the year. :)
Your drawing is lovely you are very talented :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jacquie Wonderful sunsets!!! Lovely drawing and cute slippers!!! I would also stare at the pom-poms all the time!!! Have a great day!!!
