I'm so glad you like this layout...words after pictures....it certainly seems easier for me.
So on the morning mum and I were due to go home I was still feeling rather shaken from my fall. But I couldn't resist stopping at another woodland walk we had found HERE . It was thankfully a short walk, through pretty trees down to the valley bottom.
How I loved the golden Beech leaves and the pretty stone cottage that sold tea in the garden. The flower arch enchanted me with it's Hydrangea heads and pale pink berries. It's setting was just so magical too. The stream bubbled over rocks and the bridges were a delight. But the best bit had to be the waterfall....I love to see a beautiful natural waterfall and I was so glad that I made to effort to find it.
The whole weekend ( well apart from the silly fall ) was pure delight. I do hope to return to this special part of the world again soon.

Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHello Jacquie! I'm so sorry to hear of your fall and your tooth problem. I took a few bad falls over this past year and I'm still dealing with pain in my shoulder and hip. So, we both need to watch our step better. I really enjoyed the photos in your last several posts.. what a beautiful land you live in. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on your posts and hope you are on the mend :-). These posts haven't been a horrendous distance from where we are and you have found places that I didn't know existed!! That's shocking talk about not seeing things under your nose!! However that will be rectified...I just haven't told the oh yet!! Lol have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou've given me a whole new prospective of Whitby and surrounding areas. We love walking and love Whitby, but for some reason we've never combined the two. Thanks for the beautiful photos. Did your mum manage any more paintings?

ReplyDeleteThese have been such lovely posts, gorgeous photos and a terrific reminisce for me. We walked the C2C last Sept and this tea room made our last day even more delightful. Thank you so much for sharing your walks, makes me happily homesickness!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, especially that lovely arch, and such a lovely time of year to be in the woods. Glad you enjoyed your time there, except for the fall. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteTo me the best part is the waterfall .I enjoyed every part of your tour it's so many years since i went to England .Thanks for all your photos.y.s
ReplyDeleteThe tea rooms, otherwise known as Midge Hall - my did that bring back memories of many years ago! Friends of my parents had talked of buying it to run as a tea room but bought Levisham Hall by the station instead to do B&B. Must do that walk next time we are up there, thanks for the memory xx
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to visit all the more! Feel better soon.x
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your fall! We visited here earlier this year and absolutely loved it! The scones at the café were delicious! Hope your mouth feels better soon! xx
ReplyDeleteJacquie, I'm doing a blog reading catch up, and want to thank you again for showing us beautiful Whitby! Your photographs and text have definitely inspired me to want to visit there someday.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your fall. Isn't it awful how something that only takes one moment can have such aftermath. Best wishes to a continuing steady recovery. Anything to do with tooth damage is sooo painful. You've got my sympathy.
All the same, I do wish you a Happy Halloween. Without any tricks...with lots of treats. xo
