Breakfast with a View

This week I have some time off work. Eldest and I decided to head out early(ish) and have breakfast with a view. Marmalade sandwiches at the top of the hill on a sunny morning were wonderful.
Old John tower looked gorgeous in the morning light, and we had the place to ourselves.
I could have stayed for ages but the boy wanted to move on after he had taken some photos of his own. The path leads down to the stream and...joy....we came across lots of pretty deer. I was fascinated by their velvet covered antlers.
This visit to Bradgate Park was a simply wonderful start to my "staycation" week.

  1. I'm so glad you have some time off and such gorgeous places to visit with your son! I was overjoyed to see the incredible photos of those spotted deer! They don't seem bothered about your presence at all.. so pretty! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  2. Thank you for the beautiful views around Bradgate Park. So interesting, I know another (former) blogger who also visits there with her boy; I recognize the stone tower from her photos. It's a small world sometimes. It looks like a wonderful place for walking, or eating marmalade sandwiches for breakfast! And to see deer with velvet antlers as well.

  5. What a fabulous way of taking breakfast, Jacquie. I should take a leaf out of your book - though I think I'd go for cheese, rather than marmalade. I need to take note of Bradgate Park, too - another one for the list. Lovely shots - you can almost smell it.
