A Different Day

 Hello lovelies,

there was no repeat of yesterday's pretty start, so I spent the morning doing housework.  It's not something I can do Monday to Friday as I go to help my mum in law every weekday morning.

Today the house was empty and it gave me chance to get on. I find it so difficult when there are people cluttering up the place 😀

It reminded me of when we bought our first house in the late 80's.  If I was lucky enough to get the weekend off I could clean the whole place on Saturday morning (it was a tiny new build and there were only 2 of us) and I loved having it all tidy , knowing the rest of the weekend was free to enjoy.

A morning of housework won't get this whole house sorted, but it does look better and still helps me to relax.

As you can see from the pictures I did get a walk this afternoon. It was very windy and showery on and off, but I'm trying to be disciplined and do 2.5 miles everyday (at least) so that I can hopefully reach my new (lowered) 800 mile target by the end of December.

It was pretty gloomy by the time I returned home but my cosmos in the front garden brought a welcome pop of colour. Amazingly they seem almost untouched by yesterday's frost.

Time for a cup of tea and some of my homemade tea loaf.

I'm still using THIS recipe. It's an old favourite,  as is my mug.

For me it really is "home sweet home" even if it's a constant battle to keep it tidy,  with 5 adults at home.

Thankfully it still makes me happy to have a full house 🏡🧍‍♀️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️😊

I hope you lovelies are having a good weekend.

  1. That tea loaf looks good! Glad you're managing to walk, not always easy in our climate but it's been a good autumn.
    Take care.

  2. Beautiful Cosmos and I admire your tenacity of doing 2.5 miles a day, that's just over 4 km a day.
I like to achieve 5000 steps a day which is approximately also 4km! Some days I do a bit less, but others I do more. Pouring rain can deter me!
    Have a lovely Sunday!

  3. I think it's brilliant that you manage to get your walks in and don't compromise on that. Like you I struggle to keep things tidy and am always 'decluttering' as it feels so nice when everything has a place.
