Hello Lovelies, it was such a treat to head out on a walk today. Cold sunny days are my favourite walking weather.
Ooops, a photo bomber in my low angle shot π€£
That's better, frosty grass and sunshine through the trees.
In the woods the ground was still rather boggy!
Wellies remain the safest footwear option.
Thankfully, most of the route was fine.
Lando is such a good boy, never straying too far and regularly checking where I am.
The daffodils are all opening beautifully at the moment.
and the trees are still bare. I do love their winter silhouettes.
But blossom is always welcome ππ.
It was such a glorious morning that we kept on walking.
Ahh, how wonderful to see all the fresh green leaves of the wild garlic after the long winter months.
The hawthorns in the hedgerows are bursting into life too.
Here we added on another mile or so by walking through the vineyard.
It was a very special walk. We did 10,000 steps before 10am. I love days when this happens!!
It's 4 weeks exactly since I challenged myself to walk 10,000 steps a day for a week. My walks had become rather short and I was feeling a bit bleurgh.
So far I haven't missed a day. I week has turned into a month. I feel so much better for it.
Sometimes it meant going out quite late, or marching around the house to add on the last couple of hundred stepsπ.
Surely, if I can manage it through a very wet February, it shouldn't be too hard to keep going. I just need to stay motivated
Some of you will know that for years I enjoyed challenging myself to walk 1000 outdoor miles a year.
Going forward I'd like to keep hitting 10,000 steps a day ( recorded on my phone app), illness or major incident permitting.
I'm currently thinking I'd relax this in December and January as the days are so very short.
Obviously that's a long way off. Right now I'm just pleased to feel enthusiastic to try a new challenge and I'm putting it down in writing so you can all hold me accountable π.
Walking is so good for my mental and physical health.
It goes without saying , it's good for this doggy too π₯°ππ¦ΊπΆ♀️
Right, I better get to sleep, another day's walking beckons.
I do hope you are getting the chance to head outdoors and enjoy the change of season too.

What wonderful walks you're doing with Lando. I do love his red coat! It's so lovely to see the pretty frost, but also enjoy the first blossoms and the cheerful daffodils as well! A great personal challenge to do 10,000 steps a day! You are lucky to live in, or near, the country to do that. I live in a town environment and like to do 5.000 steps a day and twice a week push that to 10,000. Walking makes us feel so good, doesn't it!
