My Garden :: April

Hello Lovelies,
with the blissfully warmer temperatures we have enjoyed this past week my garden has suddenly burst into life.
There are not that many flowers yet but the ones that are in bloom looked so happy in the sunshine I couldn't resist photographing them.
I've played around making a mosaic of the prettiest ....Oh and a beetle :0)........

L to R from the top they are....
1.Grape Hyacinth 2.Daffodil 3. Pansy
4. Hellebore 5.Ladybird 6. Lung-wort
7. Hyacinth 8. Tulip 9. Kilmarnock Willow

These are mostly pretty familiar to you lovelies I'm sure, but such a joy to see after a long, cold winter.

I'm planning to do a mosaic like this each month through the summer as it seems like an ideal way to record and share the changes in my garden  as we progress through the year.
My ( our ) garden is very much a family space , with lots of stuff....currently a trampoline,  a rabbit run, swings and a large slide. Not to mention the mess behind the shed , but it's well used and much loved.

Here is how  my favourite border looks in mid April. You can just see my veg patch in the distance. There is not much in flower here yet, just Lung-wort and some miniature Daffodils,  but I thought it would also be nice to record how this part of the garden changes through the summer months and into Autumn ....

I hope you will enjoy seeing the changes and the prettiest bits of this little patch of earth that gives me so much pleasure.

  5. Goodness a ladybird not seen one of those yet this year... Did see my first bumble bees at the weekend feeding on the comfrey flowers... the garden is usually buzzing by now. Lovely flower patchwork, I do't know how to do that will have to investigate. Cx

  6. I love seeing other peoples gardens especially as we're pretty much starting from scratch with ours. I like your idea of doing a mosaic of flowers every month. I might borrow that idea if you don't mind although at the moment I only have daffodils and primulas blooming in my garden. I hope there will be more next Spring. Love seeing the shadow of your washing on the grass. I've had mine out too and it's been lovely to bring in clothes smelling of fresh Spring air. Fiona x

  7. Lovely photos so nice to see the colour from those flowers you certainly have a lot more out in your garden than I have. I have noticed that in my garden the hyacinths are in bud and nearly ready to release that wonderful scent. Enjoy the colour x

  14. Lovely pictures, I don't have much of a garden since getting my Dalmatian last year, he is a bit of a digger and has also emptied a few of my pots! I have got a patch of lungwort though and some shrubs! How did you make the mosaic if you don't mind me asking, is it done on photoshop or similar? Rowen@Coastal Colours x

  22. Dear Jacquie
Your garden is gorgeous. Could you please come to my place and fix mine? I haven't touched ours because if I do, it will die. Seriously.
I'd love to have bulbs and things. I planted some a few years ago, some of the jonquils came up, then my mother in law pulled them out when she was weeding and they were never the same again.
We've got lots of shrubs and things, and hydrangeas, agapanthas and geraniums. Last spring and summer, only the geraniums flowered and the aggies were pathetic. I have no idea why.
