Hello Lovelies,
I just had to share these photos of my sunflowers with you today.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I decided to cut down most of our super tall sunflowers to save them from the high winds we have at the moment.
I was a little sad as I love to see them in the garden.....but WOW ! I love to see them indoors too.
This huge, floppy bunch is lighting up my sitting room right now, and they really are like a burst of indoor sunshine.............
It's so nice to admire these lovely flowers in close up.........
with their huge brown centres, dotted with tiny yellow "stars"..............
And their petals , such a happy yellow...........
They certainly take my mind off the gloomy weather outside

Just what I needed to see. Just stopped for a cuppa (still in the office though!) Its pouring with rain - again and blowing a gale. Lovely to see the sunshine - even if only on a computer screen. :) x
ReplyDeleteVery windy here and husband cut our beautiful huge white Lilles and brought them in. I have a few sunflowers still not quite in bud so tied them securely - we'll see. They are such beautiful flowers - who could fail to be cheered by their happy faces. Thanks for brightening up this stormy day xx
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! A friend had sunflowers for her wedding and they were so beautiful! Enjoy x

Sunflowers are just great during autumn, they scream summer but at the same time scream autumn. Great blooms, and last quite a long time too! Enjoy the rest of your week. Chel x
ReplyDeleteI have one sunflower left from a bunch I bought about two weeks ago - it's still going strong and has moved from room to room and is currently brightening up our bathroom. Indoor sunshine indeed x Jane
ReplyDeleteYour sunflowers are beautiful and so are your photographs. Sad that the weather is not up to leaving them outside, but better to bring them in and keep enjoying them than leave them outside to the rain! They certainly make your mantlepiece look very cheery. Keep sunny!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had thought to bring my smaller sunflowers inside before they finally gave up the ghost this summer. Mine were over and done about a month ago, though; I'm glad yours carried on through the summer. I noticed yesterday that Deramores Facebook page was featuring your owls, how exciting!
ReplyDeleteThey have the cheeriest disposition Jacquie, thanks for sharing xox
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers look great...going to buy my self a bunch tomorrow ...
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous.

How cheerful and bright, so pretty! I think its much better seeing them indoors instead of wandering out to the garden one morning to find them drooping over.

So happy, and bright. We have some but not enough to fill a vase. Jo x
ReplyDeleteThose really are beautiful sunflowers- they are so "happy"! When you look closely they are an amazing feat of nature. Have a good week in spite of the rain:)
ReplyDeleteSunshine in a vase. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunshiny flowers x

ReplyDeleteYour sunflowers look wonderful x
ReplyDeleteThey are such a happy flower! :) x
ReplyDeleteThey brightened my evening. I always find it difficult to cut flowers from the garden, but at this time of year as the nights draw in you can enjoy the flowers well into the evening by bringing them inside.

Jacqui these are absolutely stunning - the colour is outstanding. I always love the idea of bring flowers into the home as it makes such a difference, especially when you can smell their wonderful scent. Fabulous post as always Jacquie

Oh now they look fabulous. When I cut mine and brought them in they were pretty scruffy looking, but yours look amazing, so bright and perky! They really do brighten up any room and since the weather is so cool, it makes sense to enjoy them in the warmth indoors. x
ReplyDeleteHi Jacquie, Pure happiness!!! Have a happy week!!
