Weekend working does have it's perks I suppose. Today it meant a day with eldest who does not have college on Mondays.
We did a walk through woodland and up a hill. My favourite sort. The air was cold and we strode out through the shady parts. I love the views towards Old John's tower and the colours of the landscape in Bradgate park. There's a lot to love about this open space. So much history and natural beauty.
We walked further than I had planned, it was so pleasant and tempted us onward.
I feel very luck to have a 16 year old who really seems to enjoy walking.
After 6 miles we were both hungry and hurried home for some warm food. November you are wonderful when the sun shines.

I'm happy for you about your son enjoying the things you love to do.. great photos and I adore that tower.. and that gorgeous huge house in the countryside.. oh how lucky are the people that live there. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have such lovely weather for your day off! It was nice here too but I was cleaning this morning then at school until 5 :(
ReplyDeleteThat countryside is stunning! What a wonderful way to spend a day off!!
ReplyDeleteLovely in every way. How nice to have this walk with your eldest. The weather looked perfect!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely wonderful when the sun shines! Although the grey days can be lovely too, when the fire of autumn trees is glowing beneath the clouds.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. :)
What a lovely walk. Bradgate Park reminds me a lot of our local deer park which is similarly ancient. You have reminded me that we should pop up there for a wander soon. So nice that your son likes to walk with you. I hope mine will be the same when the time comes. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteYou have taken some seriously special photos there, Jacquie.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and such a treat to share with you while drinking my morning cuppa. It's great that your son enjoys walking too as he will no doubt have a love of the outdoors throughout his life, just like his mum.
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty ♥
ReplyDeleteOh indeed wonderful! Such beauty and wonderful time spent with your son. Love the huge roots of that tree on the hill.x
ReplyDeleteMonday is my favourite day too. Glad you have a walking buddy! I finished making a coat this week but not the walking in the woods kind take a peek...
