my favourite tree...a majestic Oak is possibly at it's most beautiful at this time of year. The colour is just stunning. I stood beneath it as leaves gently fluttered down....wonderful.
All around the trees are slowly becoming bare and fallen leaves cover the ground.
When I was feeling poorly with a lurgy ( it's cold season too! ) earlier this week I distracted myself from the yucky symptoms with a little seasonal crochet.
I found a great leaf pattern free HERE and soon had five Maple leaves. I didn't really have a plan of what to do with them when I started...this was one of those projects that just sort of happened. I added felt hearts, coordinating buttons, sewed them together and....Ta-dah.
Our fireplace is a fire-less place these days. The old gas fire was taken away when we had a new boiler in the spring. Eldest did a brilliant job of re-plastering and painting the wall for me ( it's Dulux Proud Peacock...We just used three tester pots...I love it) ....and now I'm enjoying using it as a fun display space.
The magazines hide a gap in the tiles, and Mum's lovely pastel still life hides an ugly vent.We still need to decide what to finally put here....but right now I'm happy with how it looks.
Do you like my autumnal theme?...and LED candles for a safe, cosy glow. It makes me smile.
