yesterday's walk in the beautiful south Derbyshire countryside was particularly lovely. When the sun shines at this time of year the light can be quiet magical. The low angle of the sun illuminating the contours of the landscape and bringing a very welcome shot of intense colour. The very first brave blooms are emerging and they always look especially delightful with added sunlight.
I'm not going to write a description of each picture, I think they can tell a story themselves. Why not click on the first one to enlarge it, then scroll through and see what caught my eye when we ventured on a walk from HERE and stopped for lunch HERE
What a lovely day.

A beautiful walk Jacquie. It is so important to savour these bright sunny days at this time of year. X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Derbyshire, I do so love a winter walk. There is a spot on my morning walk where the light is fantastic whenever the sun is out. I come round a corner, and there it is, on sunny days, shining through the trees onto a mossy path. Just an ordinary spot normally, but in the winter sunshine, quite magical, as you say. Have a lovely weekend Jacquie. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful and varied winter walk! It can't be any better for January. Lovely pics, Jacquie....x
ReplyDeleteYou took us on a beautiful stroll, the photographs are stunning.
ReplyDeleteI did what you suggested and the photos did tell a story. What a wonderful walk! And to see that many deer resting/grazing so peacefully, was a bonus surely. Made me wish I could be THERE. And wonderful for you that it is so close to home!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that walk, from the comfort of my laptop! Photo 20 is my favourite - that beautiful mossy wall and the sheep. Your snowdrops seem to be ahead of ours here in Hampshire though maybe I've been looking in the shadier woods. Have a lovely weekend. A
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect winter walk! Love seeing the snowdrops. We have daffodils come up here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous walk! I've seen my first snowdrops this week, but not that many. I can't believe what a beautiful day you had yesterday, it was wet and windy further north! Today has been sunny though.
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely walk. I love the thatched roof, reminds me of our trip last year and in 2016 too lucky us from Oz. Always nice seeing deers too ♥
ReplyDeleteIt really does look like a perfect winter walk! So many great things to see. Love those snowdrops!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful the sun warmed you and the countryside on this gorgeous walk! You certainly live near some very picturesque places. Loved the boats lined up and the sea of SnowDrops. Simply divine.. as always.. thank you for sharing your beauty with us. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, Jacquie! Beautiful pictures! It seems as if you live in such a different world or time from me! Has it looked like this for ages and ages and ages? How lucky you are to live there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
LOVE your walks!! We've lost our snow cover, but it's still winter browns and grays here.
