Hello Lovelies,
I think my top happy thing this week has to be all your wonderfully encouraging comments about my drawing....you lot are so kind .Thank you. And thank you from Mum.
Here are four more simple joys from my week.
1. Eldests yummy Bakewell Tart.
Made at school in "food tech" (it was home economics in my day) . The pasty is crumbly and the fillings soft and almondy. A triumph ....there's not much left now....
2. So happy to see Snow Drops this week. I just love this delicate , perfect white flower that you have to get up close to , to really appreciate.........
3. Youngest getting inspired to do his own version of that snow scene......I think it's just brilliant ..........
4. Noticing a beautiful sunrise during the rush to get to work yesterday.......the days are getting noticeably longer now.........yipee.
Hope your week has provided some reasons to smile...big or small.
Have a great weekend.

I love that three generations of you have done the one picture! Just brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThat cake from what I grew up calling 'home economics' looks really delish! I can understand why there is next to nothing left.
Life is a blessing with its warts and all. Makes us appreciate the good and fun times more.
Cheers
Lovely week. xx
ReplyDeleteisn't it amazing how each generation has inspired the next and when you think that this actually happens on many different levels with what we do and our children follow our lead. These pictures show how clearly this happens! Your snow drop picture is wonderful....and the bakewell tart looked fab! Heather x
ReplyDeleteThe bakewell tart looks fantastic. I struggle to think of my little ones getting "big" but if they bring puddings home from school then that will be easier to bear!

Lovely, lovely pictures! Snowdrops . . . I will have to wait months yet to see one in the wild! But your picture made me feel happy, so that's what matters. I've read a bunch of your posts, but don't have time today to comment on each one. Great drawings, your Mum's, yours and your son's. I use the same pencils, so it was fun to see that you do, too. I also love allotments, though I don't think they are called that here in Canada. And red tractors, too . . . but my dad worked for John Deere for several years, so those lovely green tractors are my all-time favourites. His name was John, so my Mum used to call him 'John Dear' to tease him.
ReplyDeleteGood memories! ~ Linne
A really big :)
