well it may be officially Spring now, but somebody forgot to tell the weather. It's hardly stopped snowing since Friday. Here are my cold weather Happy Moments for this week
1. Baking in a warm and cosy kitchen, simple cup cakes in pretty, spotty cases......
2. Looking out across neighbours gardens, the view is so pretty........
3. Pulling on my spotty wellies and walking to the shops with my eldest.........love the sound of our footsteps and the stillness snow brings........
4. Coming home to defrost and suddenly getting inspired to pick up my crochet hook for the first time in weeks.........pretty spring coloured circles for a little Easter project......
I will share it with you lovelies very soon, just tweaking a few things at the moment...it's looking good so far :0)
I must say THANK YOU for all your wonderful comments about my latest drawing......they are very special , and certainly a big happy thing in my week.

Lovely. We've had a ton of snow here, the heaviest I can remember having, and it's been magical. Cold, but magical. The colours in that crochet are nice, I look forward to seeing what you do with those little circles.

We have fortunately missed the snow here in the south east Jacquie, where oh where is the sun and Spring? At least you had cake and crochet to comfort you, nothing better is there ?
ReplyDeleteps. I loved your last post too, brilliant capturing of life, you are one multi-talented lady xox Penny

Oh love the cup cakes and the wellies, mine are boring green, I am so jealous of your crochet, I have tried and failed so many times. I can just about manage a granny square but that is my limit. One day i will find somebody to sit beside me and teach me where to leave a gap and where not to. My granny taught me to bake, knit and sew but she never crocheted. She also taught me to squeeze a pound till it squealed and then squeeze again to make it go a bit further.
ReplyDeleteYour cupcakes look luscious! I adore your crochet projects! You are an inspiriation!!
ReplyDeleteSending spring wishes to your way!! Hugz, Lisa
Meet your member number 3068. Such a magical number. I cannot completely grasp this. You lucky woman! I haven't even got 100 of them. Only have been blogging for two months now and each time a new member joins, my heart goes high up in the air and I'm utterly happy.
ReplyDeleteI totally like your blog: the pictures, the combination of crochetand householdthings, the easily manner in which you write.
I am so going to try to make your cuddly Russian doll, it looks so alluring...
Although I'm Dutch speaking, I try to translate most of my entries (it is a big challenge for my patience but I'm getting there)
My latest product is Molly mouse. You can check her out at:

Your crochet looks great! I have so many projects on the go I don't know which way to turn (or hook!). The snow here is melting after a blast of +2 degrees in the afternoon, now the temperature is sinking again so it means an icy drive to work! Have a great week. Chel x
ReplyDeleteI love the colorful circles, they bring spring to your mind when the the real landscape outside it's so winter :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!

ReplyDeleteHi Jacquie, I wanted to email you but didn't see a way to do that; I wanted to show you my latest crochet project, which I made with a lot of help from your tutorials. I used your granny square method as well as your flat border method for it. It's here if you want to look: http://thistlebearhome.blogspot.com/2013/03/traditional-granny-afghan.html
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a previous project that I also used your granny square tutorial for, a giant granny afghan: http://thistlebearhome.blogspot.com/2013/01/giant-granny-square-revealed.html
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your blog and your easy-to-understand, well-written tutorials. You have helped me learn so much. Thank you. :)
