Hello peeps, hope the weather is kind where you are. It's wet, wet, wet here !
I'm just popping by to post some pictures of the cushion I've made for my bloggy friend -Emma . The cushion is actually to sell on a stall she is having at a charity Christmas fair.
I had had great fun making this, using this pattern for the front.......
And a simple granny for the back, with what I hope looks like a star in the centre....
Once again I've used my favourite button closure method....
I made a red cushion pad to go inside as it looked much better than a white one showing through.
While I had my sewing machine out to make the pad I also made three gingham hearts to go with the red and white theme. I hope these will be popular as they make great tree decorations or just look pretty any time of year......
These things have all been made from stuff I had in my stash, except the buttons
. It feels great to put the things to use for a good cause .I'll pop these in the post for you later this week Emma.
The fair isn't till November so there is still time to join in if you want :0)

These are just beautiful. I LOVE the red! I'm sure the pillow will fetch a handsome price and do a lot of good for the cause. Great job!
ReplyDeleteNow where is my red yarn...
I have said this before but you are oh so talented!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that cushion, gosh it would look fab on a the Loyd Loom chair I have in my kitchen.
I have been doing a spot of (Very basic) kntting over the past few days just to get in some practice. I think one of my New Years resolutions will be to learn crochet!
xx
It is gorgeous and I know for sure it is going to be so popular. The hearts are stunning, I can see a lot of fighting is going to ensue about who purchases these items...maybe an auction would have been a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jacquie, it is so kind of you and I can't tell you how grateful we all are to all who help but I am especially grateful to my bloggy friends who are taking time out their own busy lives to help :)
Such lovely cushions in that red and white color. love those little hearts...thanks for sharing

I love the combination of red & white and I love gingham - wonderful job. Makes me smile every time I look
ReplyDeleteBeautifully crocheted... Gingham never goes out of vogue. :))
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Red and white is so inviting!
ReplyDeleteI love your cushion - love red and white together! Can you please tell me more about your "favourite button closure method"? I am working on a cushion cover right now and have no idea how I'm going to join the sides up - but I love the way you've done it. Only question is, exactly HOW have you done it? Hope you can help, thanks.
ReplyDeleteCaz :)
Great, fabulous job, Jacquie!! I love the cushion, the hearts and the meaning of it!! And the idea of a two-sided cover is so nice!
ReplyDeleteP.S.: I´d like to know more about your button closure method as well... rsrss... because mine is always "opening" because the space between the clusters are too big...
Beautiful cushion! The red and white is really striking. I would also love to learn more about your button closure method. I haven't tried crocheting a cushion cover yet but am keen to give it a go.
