hope you are well. I can hardly believe it's September all ready. The boys are back at school and the days are getting shorter......sigh. Still , the weather is gorgeous here at the moment and I do love September...such a pretty month.
Last week , on a day out with the boys and their cousins, I sat in the sun and enjoyed playing with some colourful yarn.
On occasions like this I'm always glad to have such an easy, portable hobby.
I got out my little seaside tin to add a few more rows to a quick project I'm working on , despite not having finished my seaside ripple yet........
I'm working with Patons Smoothie again .....It's splitty stuff but I do love the colours and silky feel........
Actually I did not bargain on having quite so much crochet time and only took a couple of balls of yarn.....silly me. I could easily have finished this mystery object..........
It's almost done now and, of course, I'll be sharing the pattern with you lovelies .
What is it ? Here's a clue :- It's practical as well as pretty ........ooooh .........All will be revealed very soon .....I expect you will laugh when you see what I've been making :0)

is it an apple cover, the edible kind? Looks fab and I love the colours. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteFab colours and can't wait to see what it's going to be when it's grown up :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Can't wait to see.......lovely colours! Ada :)
ReplyDeleteI really want it to be a tennis ball cover but that's not so much practical as silly!

ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses from Sweden! :)
Beautiful pictures and beautiful creations....bunny mummy is yummy mummy! Its beach ball, I guess!
ReplyDeleteI am guessing its to be a part of a pincushion thing? It is lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh I love my Patons smoothie yarn, I'm almost finished with a massive granny stripe blanket. Lovely colours!
ReplyDeleteSuch happy colours Jacquie, could it be a door stop of some kind ? :o) I too love having a portable hobby, for me there is nothing worse than having to sit for hours with idle hands!! Xox Penelope
ReplyDeleteHello Jacquie
ReplyDeletelovely colours...nice and bright....now then ....its not a Beanie,is it? looks a bit too round for that.....bit small too unless for a premmie...well what all the others have said here then...or perhaps a rattle????
I agree with you September is a great month.....the awful suffocating heat has gone and we've had a bit of rain......its enjoyable now.
keep well
Amanda :-)
Loving the crochet colours, can't wait to see what it is!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes

Love the colours you've used. I also like working with Patons Smoothie but I prefer to knit with it as when I crochet with it it does tend to split really easy. Can't wait to see finished item. Nell :o)
ReplyDeleteSeeing your gorgeous work always makes me think "Gee, I really need to get back into crochet!" Maybe now that my overlocker is broken and I can't sew (or refuse to without it) I will give it another go - I must have at least 5 unfinished projects to work on! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks bright & cheery & can't wait to see the reveal.
ReplyDeleteLove the tin box, v pretty :)

Somebody already guessed pincushion, that was my idea too! Glad to see you're enjoying your tin. Abigail x
ReplyDeleteI think it looks like a tiny portable house for fairies? Am I close? :) I'm so in love with the tin you have for your crochet, I love seagulls (for which I'm in the minority!) I must invest in a lovely tin like that for my projects! :) The stitch you are using looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteJerra xx
Well whatever it is it's sure colourful!
ReplyDeleteErrrr... Pin cushion?
ReplyDeleteLovely, bright colours!

A mini foot rest hehe. Gorgeous colors, am intrigued as to what it may be.
ReplyDeleteI am off to look at Patons Smoothie now.
xo Sandi
I guess...a ball for Heathers baby. Filled with toy stuffing it would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteo_O ... so many good guesses and none of them are it?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a doll hat in the making to me. Or an egg warmer. LOL Not sure either of those fall under the category as "practical" but I suppose it's all a matter of perspective. :)
Beautiful crochet work! Maybe a bowl or a baby's hat? The tin is really cute :-)
ReplyDeleteA ball maybe?
ReplyDeleteIs it a jolly paper weight? I'd certainly enjoy that brightening up my desk while keeping my papers in one place!

PS best of luck with your run - and apologies for my lack of popping by recently, I'm playing catch up now ;)
