Countryside views and birdsong

Hello Lovelies,
yesterday was a beautifully warm, sunny and calm day. Too rare and pretty to miss. The countryside was calling me.......

It feels like we have been waiting sooooo long for a day like this, with no wind , blue skys and green countryside ........

suddenly everywhere is lush and alive........

The little Chaffinch was singing beautifully.......

and the  stream looked pretty in the sunshine........

The brown of winter is almost all  gone.......

And the blossom is so pretty......

This wonderful old ash tree caught my eye........

And I was very grateful for this time spent quietly enjoying the lovely countryside we are blessed with......

on the walk home I took, possibly, the last Daffodil photo of this year.......I don't think there have been many years when they have still been flowering in May......

Spring is so welcome every year, and it is especially sweet this year.On days like this I feel very lucky to be able to work part time, with days in the week I can do what I want with....of course there are errands and house work, but there is always an hour or so that  I can do as I please.....and for that I'm grateful.

  9. Wow!!! You're blessed to be in a place like this. City life is soo soo boring and polluted. Its been more than a year since I saw such beautiful greenery and perfectly clear blue sky. The last I saw it was, when I was in Germany last year. Missing those days badly :-( and I must say you have a wonderful camera too. :-)
    Enjoy every bit of it.

  10. Jacquie, those blue-skied open vistas would make anyone's heart sing! I so agree with you about the joy to be found in having a free hour or two available to experience such times.

That Last Daffodil is a beauty. xo

  12. How pretty! I feel exactly the same. Finally spring is here in full and things are just exploding around us. Me to are working part time and I wonder how full time workers can stand missing out on these moments... Well, not everyone has a choice of course... I am lucky to work part time. A lot of gratefulness in this post. That is nice. That first picture of yours would do fab for one of your drawings. Or the tree with the Chaffinch... maybe add some blossoms and more birdies... Cute.

  15. Thank you so much for sharing a little bit of old England in spring, Jacquie - it does my heart good! The little chaffinch was very good to sit still while you photographed him - he's so lovely!
I do hope the good weather continues over the weekend (and on) so you can enjoy it with your family.

  16. Thank you, Jacqui. Yesterday you charmed me with the seaside, today the countryside. I enjoyed your walk. There's nothing like a clear blue sky in spring time. Here in Tasmania, the weather is showing winter is fast approaching.
