Hello Lovelies,
thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my sunny holiday snaps.
I'll start this next instalment with a reality check :0)
This was Sunday....well, this is the British seaside..........
But, you know what, it wasn't cold and I kind of liked the change of mood.
The children still had fun in the waves.........
And the colour of the Ocean on a rainy day, though muted, was still very beautiful.
It amused me to stand in the shallows, wearing a cagoule to keep me dry, but getting my feet very wet..........
Chapel Rock was brooding and dark............
A seemingly constant presence....and yet much changed by the ocean in the last 100 years as seen HERE
And then...the next day, Monday, the sun was back and the same view looked quiet different..............
Once again I was paddling.........
And Hubby and the children were in the sea....somewhere in the crowds..........
Chapel Rock had a stream of visitors waving from it's summit..........
And the beach was full of families having fun..........
Sunshine and sand do go together perfectly....it's all I really want on a seaside break.
And when the sun does shine, the light is amazing in Cornwall.
These next photos were taken on an evening visit to Crantock beach....the memories of THIS evening visit 2 years ago made a return trip high on my list of things to do.
We arrived about an hour before sunset, to dramatic clouds and a stiff breeze blowing in from the sea......
How I love the sunlight reflected off the ocean and the silhouetted surfers.....
While I took too many photos the boys flew a kite..........
It was chilly and I couldn't imagine getting into the water, even in a wetsuit.........
Eldest braved the shallows a little.........
But my feet were staying dry for once............
I even retreated to the dunes for a while.........
It didn't give much shelter but I did love the view ............
And the golden light...........
The rugged cliffs looked extra dramatic, bathed in the evening glow.........
Let me zoom in a little so you can see...........
As I sheltered from the wind I played around taking photos from different angles........
Eventually the sun lowered and the light turned really golden..........
Time to return to the beach..........
To hang out with the boys and watch the sunset together.......
Middle son took a few photos of his own..........
And then the cold got the better of me. Goodbye Crantock beach..........
I hope we will be back again some day.

Wow Jacquie! You have some gorgeous photos there. I love Perranporth beach, I was amazed how much chapel rock has changed over the century. The waves are so much fun in Cornwall, I used to love body boarding and catching the waves before the Lupus took hold! Some fantastic memories to see you through the winter :-)
ReplyDeleteI think this summer has been a real mixed bag of weather wherever you've been - it seems crazy to be in your waterproofs one day and not the next. Lovely photos! xx
ReplyDeleteOh - you are making me yearn for Cornwall - I love it. Gorgeous pics. x
ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic photos, there really are some utterly gorgeous shots there. Perranporth is lovely isn't it. I always think the seaside is just as enchanting even when the weather is gloomier - it's just a different sort of atmosphere. The sunset shots are wonderful, and I love the light falling in that sandy footprint, that really caught my eye. So glad you had a good time there. CJ xx
ReplyDeletegorgeous photos of a gorgeous place!
ReplyDeleteWe are still on holiday in Cornwall, sadly we leave tomorrow but it is such a beautiful place,
xxx
What a beautiful place! Chapel Rock really has change! Love the golden light. I can almost taste and hear the ocean now. Thanks for sharing. : ))
ReplyDeleteSome amazing photos Jacquie.:) x
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the beautiful photos! I've always wanted to visit, this is next best thing!
ReplyDeleteCornwall was one of my favourite places we visited in the U.K. and your photos certainly do it justice. It has to be really hot for me to go into the water even here in Australia so I don't think I would be braving those cold waters. You and your family have obviously had a gorgeous holiday and I hope you are all feeling relaxed and refreshed.

It all looks very beautiful to me. I love the wetsuits! :)
ReplyDeleteCornwall looks beautiful whatever the weather. Love the surfer silhouette shot. Enjoy your holiday. My brother and sister are both holidaying in cornwall somewhere at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful pics, you get some lovely angles. xxxx
ReplyDeleteWe live in Cornwall and truly do treasure gorgeous places like this. I follow your blog with such interest and love reading all your posts. When you visited Crantock two years ago it made me realise that we had not been there for years and years... this year alone we have been there 5 times in these holidays and countless times out of season... all thanks to your blog reminding me so thank you! Funny how it takes a visitor to remind a local of their treasures! Your holiday looks amazing and I am so pleased you had a good time. X
ReplyDeleteI love these pics... I really enjoy the sea on cloudy day, I find it incredibly romantic... : )
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures and amazing memories!x
ReplyDeleteWonderful images I remembered your previous holiday here too! Sarah x
