on Saturday night I set my alarm. All week I have to get up early, but I'm too busy to enjoy that special time of day.
On Sunday morning I peeped out of the curtains at 7am and was thrilled to see a clear sky and a touch of frost.
By 7.30 I was heading out of the door with my eldest, who always seems happy to join me...bless him.
My disorganisation this week was to forget to buy any breakfast cereal....so I guess we should have headed to the shops, but I had other plans.
We wander along the roadside then carefully climb over the icy style that marks the entrance to my favourite footpath........
it's looking particularly lovely this morning.
I'm totally thrilled by the beautiful light created by the rising sun........
The wild roses that looked so beautiful here in June are now glowing red hips.......
The sunlight illuminates this disused gateway and everything still looks fresh and green in it's glow......
But in the other direction there is a backdrop of golden trees.
And the icy coating on the fields and roofs show this is a chilly November morning.
Here the sun had already melted the frost on the old tractor.........
But where it remains everyday objects become so beautiful and everywhere you turn is another glorious picture.............
My companion is first over another frosty style.........
and then we are next to the sheep field..........
It looks like these ladies are waiting for their breakfast and they hurry over to greet us..........
sorry girls, hopefully your owner will be along soon.
Here the path comes out onto the road and this is where I was heading.
Each work day I drive past this field and I knew that.....at this time of year...... and this time of day.... when the sky is clear...... you can see the rising sun , illuminating the field and silhouetting the lovely oak trees on the horizon.........
It's on a bend so I can never stop to admire it properly, but today I could.....so happy, sigh.
The rays are now beginning to melt the light Autumn frost. Each blade of grass has a glittering water droplet at it's tip............
The time is about 8am and we are beginning to get a bit hungry so we say goodbye to sunrise corner....
and walk briskly home, noticing the stunning colour of these cherry tree leaves against the blue sky.......
And passing this lovely old house, with the prettiest name........

p.s. do take a look at these photos in the light box .....by clicking on them.....if you want to see them more clearly.
Looks like you had a wonderful early morning walk. We haven't had any frost where I live at all yet.

These pictures are stunning Jacquie, truly. I love these frosty but bright mornings, so beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, made me feel quite nostalgic for the wonderful scenes the frost made when we were in Devon, only for a few moments though lol, last winter in a cold snap we did have some ice formed in the water buckets but we very rarely get frost
ReplyDeleteYou're photos are amazing! What a wonderful place =)

DeleteOOh what stunning photos!! You have a great eye for the beauty around you, thanks for sharing, Sam xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Well worth the early start I think. If I went on an early walk I'm sure my eldest would come too, we're both really early risers. Everything does look utterly magical in that lovely light. I know what you mean about seeing things from the car and wanting to explore and take some time to walk around and enjoy the beauty. Such a lovely post Jacquie.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, Jacquie, thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou live in such a pretty part of the world.
Thank you for sharing it with us. :)
What beautiful pictures, you certainly have an eye for good subjects. I just love Autumn and Winter and their effect on the trees and plants. I'm almost motivated to get up early and set off with my camera! I live in a town but right next to a park so maybe I could find some good pictures there. Thank you so much for showing your outings to us, I look forward to seeing them.
ReplyDeleteStunning, evocative photos. I love all the frosty images, so magical...but what perhaps is most special is that you take the time, that you *make* the time, to walk in these early hours and observe and appreciate the world around us. Wonderful! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful morning walk. It was wet from dawn til dusk here on Sunday. We've not had a proper frost yet either - I'm sure it isn't far away though. I'm almost wanting it to get colder so I can take some "frosty" photos!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week. Sara x
I've just realised I'm going mad! It was Saturday that was awful here - Sunday was beautiful! Whoops!!
DeleteI did have been there with you! Wonderful early morning walk :) x
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful pictures. The light this time of year is not to be missed. I like the sheep picture the most.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous lighting! My favourite is 'one man and his dog' in the morning sun!
ReplyDeleteI too love the light at this time of year. We haven't had our first frost yet down here in the South of England so I'm a bit jealous as I love running on a frosty morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you for that early morning wake up. Your photographs of daybreak on a frosty morning are spectacular. What a wonderful world!

The early morning sun light looks lovely. It's not a thing I usually see, but after seeing your photos I think I will get up early tomorrow as it's forecast a sunny day.
