My Advent Calendar ♥ 4th December

Hello lovelies,
Today's advent post is more of a walk post...but it does contain some festive things too.

Every month or so I meet up with a friend for a Sunday morning walk. Today the weather was perfect and we went to Attenborough Nature Reserve.

There's a rather nice visitor centre which has a cafe, but we were not going there.

The light was beautiful and I was thrilled to get a pretty good photo of this Robin.

These lakes are flooded quarry sites and a haven for wildlife.

The reserve borders the river Trent and it's easy walking with lots to see.

The path also leads to a great "no frills" cafe. Where the staff are super friendly, the mugs of tea are huge and the mince pies are homemade :0)

Sitting outdoors in the December Sunshine...what a treat.

Too soon it was time to leave. Can you spot the Heron?

Here he is.

I love this white cottage next to the church.

Yay another Robin shot...very festive :0)

It was a very pleasant, flat three mile walk that we hardly noticed as we were so busy chatting.

I hope your second Sunday in Advent has been a good one lovelies.

  1. I love it here too. How do you get those bloomin birds to sit still while you take their pics ! Lovely sunny day today. Wind was cold though. Brrrr.

  2. Your pictures are truly stunning and I really enjoy coming on your walks, thank you.

  3. What a fantastic reserve. Honestly, the weather is stunning at the moment isn't it, and you've captured it beautifully. The last picture is perfection. Glad you had such a lovely walk. CJ xx

  4. OOoh, it looks delightful! AND I love your heron and robin photos- what great captures!x

  5. That is a wonderful robin shot. Your robins are so dainty-looking compared with ours. (We won't see them again for another four months - they fly away south for the winter.)

I must say your walk looked much warmer than mine! Beautiful photos. :)

  6. gosh you were lucky to get the snap of the heron, we have one or two on the river but for years I have been trying to get a pic and they always hear me thundering along and fly off!

  7. The best of days here! Not so long of a walk here, but a walk non the less.

I always love to hear from you , thank you for taking the time to leave a message.
